Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides patient/resident care under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse. The CNA completes assigned tasks to ensure timely, efficient, and safe patient/resident care. Effective communication and interactions with patients, residents, families, and other healthcare team members are essential components of this position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Perform initial and ongoing data collection on all patients/residents under the direction of the RN/LPN.
Implement care plans developed by the RN based on patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
Provide direct patient/resident care and report changes in condition to the RN or LPN.
Ensure resident safety by identifying hazards and initiating corrective actions.
Document patient/resident care activities following established policies and procedures.
Comply with all ministry policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Management Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience
GED or High School Diploma preferred.
Previous hospital or long-term care experience preferred.
Ability to work with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or NATII in the state of employment.
CPR certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and leadership.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands
Frequently push/pull items (up to 75 lbs) and lift/carry items (up to 25 lbs).
Obtain assistance for lifting objects over 25 lbs.
Assist in maneuvering residents/patients weighing 100–400+ lbs.
Stand and walk up to 8 hours; stoop, bend, reach, squat, balance, and twist frequently.
Communicate effectively at all times.
Occasionally sit for up to 30 minutes.
Detect and discern sounds, smells, and visual cues essential for patient care.
Provide direct care to adult and geriatric populations.
Working Conditions
Category I – Potential Exposure
Frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, airborne particles, and sharp objects.
PPE is required for all Category I tasks.
Work performed indoors in a well-ventilated environment.
Frequent interruptions from staff, residents, and visitors.
Occasional exposure to emotionally upset individuals.
