Medication Aide Training - CMA

Please note that there is a prescreening reading exam that you must take before you can be confirmed in the CMA course. Click “Prescreening Reading Exam” button below to complete the exam.

Your enrollment will NOT be confirmed until the reading exam is passed. You must have an active CNA number in Kansas and pass the reading assessment to enroll in this course.

  • Med Aides pass medications to patients or residents and perform treatments.

    This course teaches basic techniques and safety in medication administration.

    Students will learn about Commonly-used medications, their classifications, and side effects.

    • Students must be 18 years of age to sit for the CMA state exam per state regulation.

    • Students must have a Kansas CNA number per state regulation at the time of enrollment.

    • Students must pass an 8th-grade reading level assessment per state regulation.

  • This is a part-time 75-hour course:

    • Theory/Didactic: 50 hrs

    • Clinicals: 25 hrs

  • Private pay (non-sponsored student) balances must be paid in full prior to the course start date. A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of enrollment to hold your seat. That deposit is applied to your course price. This deposit is only for the enrolled course schedule. If you do not attend the enrolled course schedule, you cannot move this deposit to a new schedule.

    Students sponsored by one of our community partners: DCF, Workforce, City of Wichita, Facility sponsors, or other funding sources are exempt from this. Each sponsor will be invoiced accordingly. Students will be given the opportunity to select this payment type when completing the online enrollment form.

  • You will attend classes and take your state exam at our Wichita, KS location:

  • Once you’ve passed the CMA state exam, your CMA will be added to your CNA registry record. This is where you and your employer will check your status as a CMA. You’ll want to check the registry regularly so that you do not allow your CMA to expire. You’ll be required to do a CMA Update course within two years to keep your CMA credential active.
