Medication Aide Training CMA

  • Med Aides pass medications to patients or residents and perform treatments.

    This course teaches basic techniques and safety in medication administration.

    Students will learn about Commonly-used medications, their classifications, and side effects.

    • Students must be 18 years of age per KDADS requirement.

    • Students must be an active Kansas CNA per KDADS requirement.

    • Students must pass an 8th-grade reading level assessment per KDADS requirement.

  • This is a part-time 75-hour course:

    • Theory/Didactic: 50 hrs

    • Clinicals: 25 hrs

  • Private pay (non-sponsored student) balances must be paid in full prior to the course start date. A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of enrollment to hold your seat. That deposit is applied to your course price.

    Students sponsored by one of our community partners: DCF, Workforce, City of Wichita, Facility sponsors, or other funding sources are exempt from this. Each sponsor will be invoiced accordingly. Students will be given the opportunity to select this payment type when completing the online enrollment form.

  • You will attend classes and take your state exam at our Wichita, KS location:

  • Once you’ve passed the CMA state exam, your CMA will be added to your CNA registry record. This is where you and your employer will check your status as a CMA. You’ll want to check the registry regularly so that you do not allow your CMA to expire. You’ll be required to do a CMA Update course within two years to keep your CMA credential active.
