CMAs are some of the busiest people I know. Work schedules are crazy and then add to that family life and other responsibilities and sleep takes back seat to all the other needs.
Practicing Good Sleep Hygiene

What is the 3 2 1 rule for sleeping?
3 hours before bed: No more food or alcohol.
2 hours before bed: No more work.
1 hour before bed: No more screen time (shut off all phones, TVs and computers).
0: The number of times you'll need to hit snooze in the AM.
What you can do to help your residents sleep better
1.) Be mindful of how loud the halls can be. When needing to communicate with other staff do it away from residents' rooms. Keep voices and other noises down.
2.) Coordinate med passes with bed checks
3.) Do not turn on the over head light to administer meds, rather use a small flashlight or lamp.
4.) Keep routines for residents when getting ready for bed.
