Certificate Completion and Course Requirements

Allied’s Pharmacy Tech training program is a part-time course that covers a total of 300 clock hours--237 hours of online instruction and 63 hours of in person skills classes. This course takes about 4 months to complete. Included in the course price is one attempt at the certification exam through the PTCB, which is required by the KS Board of Pharmacy to work as a Pharmacy Technician. The KS Board of Pharmacy application fee is also covered in the course price. Students must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED to sit for the PTCB exam. Upon passing the PTCB exam, students gain the credential of CPhT and are eligible to attend optional clinicals at a local pharmacy, although most students are able to find employment immediately as a Pharmacy Technician.
