CMA Update
If you have not registered and paid for this class, your information will not be submitted to KDADS. If you need to register, click the “Courses” menu option above and select “CMA Update” to begin the online registration process.
On the closing date of your enrolled course, we submit the roster of completed students to KDADS.
If your CMA certification is already expired KDADS will usually update the Nurse Aide Registry within 48 hours, but in rare cases it may take up to a week.
If you are still active as a CMA on the Nurse Aide Registry, you will receive a "renewal date" on the registry.
Keep in mind you are not legal to pass medications unless you are showing "active" as a Certified Medication Aide on the Nurse Aide Registry.
You only have one year after expiring to complete a CMA Update course to renew your credential per state regulation. If you pay for and complete the course but find out later that you did not qualify because you are outside of the allotted time to renew, you will not be due any refund. You can check the Nurse Aide Registry to see if you qualify for the course here: www.ksnurseaidregistry.org
Email is our primary means of communication, so check it often. Also, you will be receiving your Certificate of Completion via email at the end of the course. Make sure to check your spam or junk folders as it is possible that some of our emails end up in this folder.
Please email us if you have questions or concerns throughout the course.

Important information for Med Aides:
The Medication Aide Certification is active for two years from the date issued.
To maintain an active certification you must complete, at any time during those two years, a program of 10 hours of continuing education approved by KDADS.
It is important that you plan ahead so that a course is available before your certification expires. An active CMA should try to complete the 10-hour CMA Update course no sooner than six months prior to expiration.
If a CMA’s certification expires, you have one year from expiration date to complete a 10-hr CMA Update course.
If your certification has been expired for more than one year, you are required to retake the 75-hour Certified Medication Aide course.
If your CMA certification expires, you cannot work as a CMA until the certification is reactivated (but you can work as CNA if your CNA is still active).rocs
