Medical Assistant Training

  • In this course students will learn to perform a wide range of tasks, such as drawing blood, administering injections, measure and record vital signs, and other point-of-care testing. Students will also learn how to assist physicians during exams, and interview and educate patients.

    Upon completion of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the NHA certification exam to gain the credential of CCMA. This exam is included in the course price.

    Basic Life Support (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association is also included in the course price.

  • Prerequisite courses: CNA, CMA, EKG, and Phlebotomy

    Students must be 18 years of age to enroll in this course. Students must have a high school diploma or GED to sit for the optional NHA certification exam.

    Students must provide current negative TB skin test result (within 6 months prior to clinicals).

    Students must pass a drug screen and background check provided by the school prior to clinicals.

    80 clinical hours are required to complete the course.

    Enrollment into this course requires an in-person interview with our instructors and admissions staff. You’ll still complete your enrollment online but you will be contacted by our student account manager to schedule the in-person interview. This is a requirement for every prospective Medical Assistant student.

  • This is a part-time course that lasts a total of 295 hours

    • Theory/Didactic: 155 hrs

    • Skills Lab: 60 hrs

    • Clinicals: 80 hrs

  • Private pay (non-sponsored student) balances must be paid in full prior to the course start date. A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of enrollment to hold your seat. That deposit is applied to your course price.

    Students sponsored by one of our community partners: DCF, Workforce, City of Wichita, Facility sponsors, or other funding sources are exempt from this. Each sponsor will be invoiced accordingly. Students will be given the opportunity to select this payment type when completing the online enrollment form.
